No Matter What You Do With The Mask And Vaccine, EAT THE DAMN SALAD!

We are in very crazy times where, when you simplify everything, you either think everyone should wear a mask and get vaccinated or you think there should be a choice in both. Yes, I know there are other things going on but this is the issue we see and hear about every day. I don’t know how we move forward but I do know one thing, whatever side you are on you have to take care of your health.

Almost 19 years ago I was introduced to Juice Plus, fruits and vegetables in a capsule backed by scientific research. It made sense to me because I knew I wasn’t getting the amount of whole food I needed on a daily basis. There were no promises made to me that I would never get sick if I took these capsules, but I knew as a personal trainer that most of us can’t, won’t or don’t get the fruits and vegetables we need. At the time I was healthy so why should I be concerned about disease prevention? The kicker was hearing doctors talk about the immune system and how we need to feed our bodies properly to keep the immune system functioning properly to be able to fight disease. And as we all know of cancer, heart disease, diabetes etc, it really is the unknown that we should be concerned about. Little did I know that 19 years later that unknown was going to come about! I can honestly tell you that I’m so glad I have been flooding my body with the variety of fruits and vegetables, not just in the capsules, but also with what I consume! I’m not perfect with the diet but you don’t have to be.

Here is the reality for both sides of the mask/vaccine discussion. If you wear a mask and have been vaccinated to protect yourself against this virus, you better be doing all the other things on a daily basis to be healthy. Get some simple exercise, maintain a healthy body-weight and eat a diet rich in whole foods. If you aren’t doing this, don’t lecture others. On the flip side, if you think we should all have a choice on wearing a mask and vaccine, you better be doing all the other things on a daily basis to be healthy. Get some simple exercise, maintain a healthy body-weight and eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

I understand there is no guarantee that trying to be healthy is going to keep you disease free. There is no guarantee. But you certainly are setting yourself up to fight off ANY disease/virus if you do.

Until next time…#eatthedamnsalad
