Actor Shia LeBeouf has had his share of trouble however that seems to be changing since his work on the movie about St. Padre Pio. As shared here, LeBeouf had an epiphany while doing research on St. Pio and converted to Catholicism. Now he opens up to Aleteia again, talking about how his mother’s recent death deepened his faith.
Being with a parent at the end of their life can have an incredible impact on an individual. LeBeouf was at his mother’s side when she passed away at the age of 80.
“My mother was full of fear in her last moments: asking the doctor what this tube was and what that machine did. She was frantic,” he shared with the outlet. “She was deeply interested in God and spirituality her whole life, but she didn’t know him. Hence her last moments.”
Ultimately, a mothers love for her son is never-ending. Even in her final moments, LeBeouf’s mother was teaching her son.
“Her greatest gift to me was to promote, in her dying, the necessity of a relationship with God. Not an interest, not just a belief, but a relationship built on proof as tangible as a hug. Her last gift to me was the ultimate persuasion for faith. She was a good girl. She was loved by many and known by too few. God bless you, Momma.”
It is never too late to develop a true relationship with God. It will, almost certainly, have an amazing impact on you and those around you that you love!
