So many of us spend time in the gym, trying to burn off the calories we take in during the day. We all know that exercise is beneficial for our health, but a lot of the time we think we can get away with a bad diet and still get gains from our workout program. Depending on how much weight you need to lose, you can make some advances with a poor diet simply by cutting calories, but at some point that will plateau and you won’t reap the benefits of your hard work.
This is when we need to focus all our attention on what we eat. We can kid ourselves and say a calorie is a calorie no matter where it comes from. True to a small degree but what that bad food does to us compared to good food is completely different. Good, healthy food feeds our bodies and gives us the energy to keep active, while bad food is doing the opposite. The food we eat, working with our exercise as opposed to against it, will help you to get the weight loss you want and, more importantly, keep that weight off (see previous post)!
There is a saying that you can’t out-exercise a poor diet, and this is very true. Get as many fruits and vegetables in your body that you can and you will look, and feel, great!
Until next time…
