Anyone who has started a workout program, especially to lose weight, has that goal in mind that they want to get to. Many times they have heard the “best” way to accomplish that goal. A friend shares what the greatest workout program is, how they can burn the most calories in the least amount of time and so forth.
In the 20+ years I have been training and educating people on how to improve their health and wellness, the one area I tend to emphasis most is consistency! If you aren’t on a regular workout program, you will probably have a hard time reaching goals. This doesn’t mean you don’t have to challenge yourself when you do workout. When someone strikes a balance with consistency and intensity, they are usually amazed by the results.
A challenge most face is how to fit in a consistent workout program with their busy life. Being consistent doesn’t mean every day for 3 hours. Especially when starting out, it may be 2 days a week for a half hour. If that is what you can give, make sure it is CONSISTENT. Once that is incorporated to your life, add another day. Realize we need to do something most days in order to keep weight under control and reap the health benefits of exercise and it may take time to build up.
Health and wellness is a journey so embrace it!
