I Hate to Exercise!

I can’t tell you how many times I have met with a new client, or talked with a friend, and they go on about how they hate the treadmill. Or they think the bike is the most boring piece of equipment in the world! The beauty of exercise is there is such a variety of things to do that if you don’t like one thing, try another.
Bike, treadmill, elliptical, rower, stepper, weights, TRX, Zumba, crossfit, swimming,yoga, pilates, bodyweight exercise, and the list can go on much longer. Try your hand at everything that is out there and you will find something to your liking. For me, I’m a cyclist, swimmer and weight trainer. Those work for me but I have tried yoga and pilates. While I do enjoy both of those, I haven’t worked them into my routine on a regular basis.
If you go through all the ways to workout and still can’t find something to your liking, you may have to resign to the fact that you simply aren’t going to like to exercise. Whether we like it or not, we have to do something to keep a healthy weight and to strengthen the heart and other muscles. Some of us, myself included, enjoy when we get to workout. Those that don’t, it becomes a chore but very necessary.
